Fedorovsky Oleksandr Dmytrovych, doctor of physical-mathematical sciences, professor, corespondent member of NASU is a head of the department.

The staff of the department consists of 13 collaborates among those 2 doctors and 6 candidates.

he principal directions in the investigations:

    • Elaboration of scientific foundation and the methods of remote sensing study for the hydroecological processes to make the decision into water protection and water service problems using aerospace information and system approach;
    • Development of the methods and computer programs to design and assess the aerospace equipment complexes for remote sensing of the Earth (RSE) on a basis of the system approach;
    • Development of the methods and computer programs to decode the satellite images for landscape complexes based on the landscape-system approach;
    • Development of the methods and computer programs for the assessment and imitation model of RSE system activity on a basis of the system dynamics.
