Filipovych Volodymyr Yevhenovych

Candidate of Geological Sciences, Senior Researcher.

Born on January 22, 1957.

1979 - graduated the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev.

1979 - engineer, geomorphologist, geologist, senior geologist, researcher and senior researcher in the Kiev department of the Institute of Geology and Development of fossil fuels.

1992 - senior researcher and head of the department at the CASRE of IGS NAS of Ukraine.

2000 - defended thesis "Integral use of remote sensing and fild gas mercury methods at the search hydrocarbon accumulations (using the Alpin zone and Dnieper-Donets depressin, as the example)".

Author and co-author of more than 140 scientific developments, that include 31 reports on scientific research and 110 scientific publications, he is also co-author of 8 monographs.

Scientific interests:

  • Methodology of satellite environmental monitoring of the transformed urban and natural landscapes;
  • Methodology of satellite monitoring of the geological environment in open-mined areas;
  • Adaptation the methods of remote sensing of natural and anthropogenic objects in the infrared range for the conditions of Ukraine in solving issues related to geoecological monitoring, energy conservation and rational nature management;
  • Recommendations for the adaptation of cities to climate change based on the satellite monitoring of the urban areas’ surface temperature
